Adult Education Specialist

City Colleges of Chicago is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adult Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Adult Education department, you will be responsible for providing instruction in Language Arts to students enrolled in our Adult Education program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective Language Arts instruction that supports students in meeting the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for the course.
- Utilize CCC Adult Education core materials, including those in the Learning Management System, such as Brightspace, to deliver high-quality instruction.
- Customize instruction with supplemental materials as needed to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Conduct regular assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Manage attendance, enrollment, and retention, and submit grades and other required information in a timely manner.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with Adult Education policies and regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university, preferably in Adult Education, Education, Elementary or Secondary Education, English, and/or Reading.
- Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college/university preferred in a related subject, i.e. Adult Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, Educational Policy, Elementary or Secondary Education, English, Literacy Studies, Reading, or Teaching.
- International degree(s) evaluated by a certified provider.
- Teaching and/or tutoring experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Some proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
