Overview of Responsibilities
The Campus Safety Coordinator is a full-time position dedicated to maintaining a secure environment for all individuals within the educational setting. This role is essential in fostering a safe atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities
As a Campus Safety Coordinator, your primary duties will include:
- Conducting regular patrols of the school premises to uphold order and prevent any unlawful activities.
- Working collaboratively with school leadership and personnel to cultivate a positive and secure educational environment.
- Promoting constructive communication and behavioral choices among students.
- Encouraging academic success and active participation within the school community.
- Addressing and investigating breaches of school policies.
- Referring students in need of assistance to appropriate administrative personnel.
- Detaining individuals who violate laws until law enforcement arrives.
- Escorting students exhibiting disruptive behavior to designated areas.
- Preventing unauthorized access to school facilities.
- Reporting any criminal activities to the relevant authorities.
- Mitigating disruptive behaviors among students.
- Maintaining consistent attendance and engagement in assigned duties.
- Adhering to the established dress code for security personnel.
- Documenting daily activities and incidents through written reports.
- Participating in required training sessions.
- Exemplifying appropriate conduct for students to emulate.
- Performing additional responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- The ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- A genuine interest in engaging with youth, educators, law enforcement, and community members.
- A minimum age of 21 years.
- A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of relevant experience in security or public engagement is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge.
