Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist II to be based in Dallas, Texas.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform and/or lead field work and office-based tasks.
Support projects in areas of contaminated material, soil and groundwater remediation, and environmental compliance.
Perform field work, including sample collection, to support data collection and data management.
Perform standard scientific work requiring the application of techniques and procedures.
Detect problems when using standardized procedures based from the condition of samples and difficulties with the equipment.
Conduct specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
Propose appropriate analytical methods and techniques.
Assist in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analyses.
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Provide regular updates to manager on project/assignment status.
Assist junior staff members with aspects of their job and coordinate the activities of a small team.
Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain and defend work.
Identify incremental improvements to existing procedures and processes that increase efficiency or work quality.
Perform technical quality reviews, including documentation in project record in accordance with policies and procedures.
Work with health and safety and complete safety paperwork.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in a related occupation working with health and safety and completing safety paperwork
Supporting projects in areas of contaminated material, soil and groundwater remediation, and environmental compliance
Performing field work, including sample collection, to support data collection and data management; proposing appropriate analytical methods and techniques
Providing regular updates to manager on project/assignment status
Participating in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain and defend work
