GAI Consultants, Inc. is in search of an Engineering Technical Consultant 2 to join our Power Generation Business Sector, focusing primarily on power generation initiatives and, when necessary, other regional projects. GAI Consultants, Inc. provides its employees with the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid environment, and this role is eligible for a sign-on bonus. The successful candidate will be based in our Louisville, KY office and will undertake both design and oversight responsibilities under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Gains essential knowledge and hones skills in a specific practice area through guided experience.
  • Utilizes standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to execute assigned tasks as part of a larger project.
  • Comprehends and adheres to ethical standards. Engages in basic design activities.
  • Supports tasks including fieldwork, material testing, CADD operations, permit submissions, and report preparation.
  • Accountable for personal task management and compliance with deadlines and project scope. No supervisory duties at this level.
  • Receives close oversight on most facets of assignments, especially on complex issues, along with a general review of all work aspects. Gains mentored experience from a licensed engineer.

Minimum Years of Experience

Education
  • B.S. in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Certification/Licensure
  • Valid Driver's License
Technical Responsibilities
  • Conducts basic design activities.
  • Assists with tasks such as field operations, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
Project and Task Management
  • Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and project scope.
  • No supervisory responsibilities at this level.
Management Responsibility
  • Receives close supervision on most aspects of assignments, particularly on challenging problems, and a general review of all work aspects.
  • Gains mentored experience from a licensed engineer.
Communication Skills
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication abilities.
  • Exhibits professionalism and respectful inclusion in the workplace.
  • Engages in limited interactions with project stakeholders.
