We are seeking a Lead Senior Engineering Consultant who will provide expert engineering and advisory services for a diverse range of transportation initiatives and clientele across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

This role encompasses conducting and eventually overseeing geotechnical and pavement-centric field assessments, engineering evaluations and designs, calculations, and recommendations, as well as preparing associated reports for the services rendered. Responsibilities also include monitoring and assessing project timelines and budgets, investigating and resolving design and construction challenges, and delivering effective solutions. The candidate will apply sound engineering principles and convey intricate engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Services may be offered for both existing and proposed projects within the public works and transportation domains.

Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and standards for all assignments. Engage in pre-task planning and report any safety concerns to management.
Uphold quality standards across all projects.
Act as a mid-level, experienced engineering professional responsible for managing and executing small to medium-scale projects, and occasionally more complex undertakings.
Formulate the scope of work for routine assignments.
Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and other project-related documentation.
Analyze data and perform engineering calculations and assessments.
Coordinate and supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and data evaluation, leading to the development of recommendations.
Create plans, schedules, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
Collaborate closely with senior project managers to gain valuable project management and engineering experience.
Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications.
Prepare work scopes, proposals, and reports, and plan investigations for approval by senior professionals for routine projects.
Serve as a technical advisor to junior project team members.
Supervise field personnel, including graduate engineers, engineering technicians, exploration teams, laboratory staff, and other support roles.
Interact with clients and project teams to develop service scopes and communicate project progress.
Operate under the guidance of an Authorized Project Reviewer.

Qualifications:
Licensed Professional Engineer
MicroStation design experience
3-7 years of experience in geotechnical transportation (roadway bridge design)
Geotechnical design experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an accredited engineering discipline
Proficiency in geotechnical software (LPile, APile, Shaft, slope stability, etc.)
