Position Summary

WSP is embarking on a search for a Senior Civil Engineer. This role is pivotal in providing technical support and direction for various infrastructure projects within both public and private sectors. Responsibilities include conducting due diligence, investigations, remediation, impact assessments, permitting, and construction oversight.

Your Contributions
  • Conduct professional civil engineering tasks, including research and inspections of site conditions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and permits.
  • Create detailed construction plans, specifications, and cost assessments, coordinating with stakeholders and clients.
  • Utilize advanced modeling techniques and design strategies to enhance safety and functionality in civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and planners to manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive data visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control standards for measurements and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and scoping of medium-sized projects.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers.
  • Draft technical reports and presentations that convey research findings and recommendations.
  • Analyze data from field investigations to inform action plans for risk mitigation.
  • Develop and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for data integrity and documentation.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
  • Stay updated on the latest civil engineering techniques and practices.
  • Work collaboratively on projects funded by various governmental levels.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering with a focus on civil design.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance practices in civil construction.
  • Ability to perform technical calculations and understand engineering specifications.
  • Project management experience for small to mid-level projects.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to guide and lead junior team members.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and relevant design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to direct subcontractors and ensure task completion.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Flexibility to meet project-specific schedules.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.

  • Professional Licensure/Certification.
  • Experience managing small to mid-size projects.
