Key Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental standards and state regulations. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including evaluation of breath sounds and airway integrity.
  • Administer respiratory therapies, such as oxygen and aerosol treatments.
  • Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapies and communicate with healthcare providers as necessary.
  • Support the safe transportation of patients requiring ventilatory support.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, ensuring airway management and ventilation.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or State Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
