Job Overview

Position Summary

This pivotal role involves strategizing, coordinating, and enhancing the quality assurance operations within Kopos & Baker, Inc. The individual will be responsible for the continuous development of the company's quality management system, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and environmentally compliant workplace, adhering to all regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Implement and uphold the company's 6-S initiatives, ensuring all personnel comply with established protocols.
  • Lead the enhancement of the quality management system, aligning it with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Act as the management representative, ensuring the quality management system is effectively established and maintained in accordance with ISO, Aerospace, and customer specifications.
  • Oversee internal audit processes, ensuring that internal auditors receive appropriate training.
  • Serve as the expert on quality system frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
  • Act as the primary liaison for customers, regulatory bodies, and external auditors regarding quality system matters.
  • Innovate solutions for challenges identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical and quality system reports.
  • Keep the management team informed of issues, corrective actions, and developments related to the quality management system.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to all organizational levels concerning quality system requirements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the quality management function.
  • Ensure exceptional internal and external customer service, addressing and resolving quality-related customer issues and complaints.
  • Guide and support the quality team to enhance the quality management system and achieve corporate objectives.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
  • Oversee the Process Change Request (PCR) process and Fixed Processes.
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of Facility Compliance Officer (Export Controls).
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Material Science, Quality Management).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably within the investment casting, medical device, or aerospace sectors.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to communicate effectively; stand, walk, or sit; and use hands. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment typically includes a standard office setting, with occasional exposure to a manufacturing environment, including potential exposure to moving mechanical parts and high temperatures.
