We are seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer (Project Leader - Systems Engineer) to enhance our dynamic team in addressing some of the most pressing Facilities and Infrastructure challenges while advancing our capabilities to meet future technical demands. This role calls for a creative and decisive individual who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, capable of establishing goals and effectively executing plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take initiative and manage project engineering and administrative responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Develop and apply advanced analytical methods to assess civil/structural systems and enhance overall performance.
- Analyze third-party geotechnical reports to optimize complex foundation and soil support systems.
- Conduct detailed analysis, design, and evaluation of intricate civil/structural facilities and their foundational systems.
- Create and validate comprehensive civil/structural engineering outputs, including calculations, specifications, material requisitions, and design criteria.
- Prepare independent, data-driven technical reports and recommendations for management and clients through effective communication.
- Review and provide feedback on technical documents from third-party designers and contractors.
- Utilize a systematic approach to identify and resolve facility system failures encountered during construction.
- Assist in constructability assessments.
- Support construction activities by addressing field change requests and nonconformance reports, conducting site observations, and evaluating field tests as necessary.
- Engage in technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
- Mentor and guide early-career engineers and designers.
- Travel to various facilities, representing the company and department professionally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in civil/structural engineering design and construction for various structures.
- Current Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering deliverables and construction methods for industrial infrastructure.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Familiarity with current commercial building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil/structural analytical software.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance issued by the U.S. government.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Experience with advanced engineering software.
- Background in Value Engineering and Safety Reviews.
- Knowledge of facility acquisition and operations practices in the defense sector.
- Experience in the design and construction of complex underground facilities.
- Field experience in construction.
- Current TS/SCI security clearance.
