We are currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer (Project Leader - Systems Engineer) to become an integral part of our dynamic team, addressing some of the most pressing Facilities and Infrastructure challenges while enhancing our capabilities to meet future technical demands. This role requires a creative and decisive individual who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, capable of establishing goals and effectively executing them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate independently with minimal supervision, overseeing project engineering and administrative tasks related to various projects.
- Develop and apply advanced analytical methods to assess civil/structural systems and enhance overall performance.
- Analyze third-party geotechnical reports to optimize complex foundation and soil support systems.
- Conduct detailed analysis, design, and evaluation of intricate civil/structural facilities and their foundational systems.
- Create and validate comprehensive civil/structural engineering deliverables, including calculations, specifications, material requisitions, cost estimates, and design criteria.
- Prepare independent, data-driven technical reports and recommendations for management and clients, ensuring effective communication.
- Review and provide feedback on technical documents from third-party designers and contractors.
- Employ a systematic approach to problem-solving, identifying root causes of facility system failures encountered during construction.
- Assist in constructability assessments.
- Support construction efforts by addressing field change requests and nonconformance reports, performing site observations, and evaluating field testing as necessary.
- Engage in technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
- Mentor and guide early-career engineers and designers.
- Travel to various facilities, representing the company and department professionally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in civil/structural engineering design and construction for various structures.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering deliverables, construction documents, and methods for industrial infrastructure.
- Strong time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with current commercial building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil/structural analytical software.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Experience with Mathcad, MATLAB, or similar software.
- Knowledge of US defense industry facility practices.
- Experience in geotechnical and structural design for critical environments.
- Field experience in construction.
