Your Role:

The Systems Engineering division at Teledyne Controls is seeking a proactive individual with a proven track record in collaborating within cross-functional teams throughout the hardware and software development lifecycle, from initial concept to operational deployment. You will be engaged in defining system architecture, establishing product requirements, conducting trade studies, performing analyses, and facilitating integration and verification activities. Additionally, you will contribute to innovative R&D initiatives while also providing support for our established product offerings in wireless data transmission, data collection, and interconnected systems on commercial aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of complex systems to execute technical tasks throughout the system's lifecycle, which may involve hands-on work with hardware, developing scripts and/or APIs, or creating automated testing protocols.
  • Assume Technical Lead responsibilities for small to medium-scale product developments, including overseeing engineering trade studies and design evaluations.
  • Develop and implement Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) architecture frameworks.
  • Design and validate system components based on operational requirements.
  • Conduct integration and troubleshooting of prototype hardware and software.
  • Perform root cause analysis for OEM/customer issues encountered in the field.
  • Create and execute system testing protocols to validate hardware and software performance.
  • Prepare and assist in the design and implementation of automated testing scripts and procedures.
  • Support and draft technical and process-related documentation.
  • Facilitate the transition of hardware and software products from development to production, ensuring smooth entry into service and addressing OEM/customer field challenges.
  • Assist the Program Office in developing product development timelines and cost estimates.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a related field is essential.
  • Proficiency in automated test scripting using Python is mandatory.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi or Cellular technologies is advantageous.
  • Experience working under ISO 9001 standards is preferred.
  • Prior experience in avionics is a plus.
