Position Overview:

Your insights will be crucial in pinpointing weaknesses within the infrastructure that supports vital missions and developing strategies that enhance energy resilience while promoting carbon-neutral technologies.

Your Role:

Our team is dedicated to ensuring mission readiness through energy resilience, which encompasses not only the personnel supporting critical operations but also the systems that facilitate mission success. Transitioning from fossil fuels to electric HVAC systems is essential for achieving our objectives. You will collaborate with military installations to assess energy vulnerabilities and propose comprehensive projects that address all facets of energy and climate resilience, including electrical, mechanical, water, fuel, and communication systems.

As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting evaluations of energy systems to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Proposing innovative energy projects that align with mission requirements.
  • Exploring renewable energy options to enhance sustainability in energy generation.
  • Providing expert recommendations for system development and optimization.
  • Traveling between 25-50% of the time to engage with various military installations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering applications.
  • Proficient in mechanical system design and engineering methodologies.
  • Familiarity with energy infrastructure, including HVAC systems and renewable technologies such as geothermal, hydro, or wind.
  • Experience in developing and analyzing requirements for complex energy systems.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience assessing the condition of energy infrastructure.
  • Background in designing, building, or maintaining electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with federal government and Department of Defense operations.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as NFPA 70, IEEE, UFC, and UFGS.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • EIT Certification.
