Position Overview:

As an electrical engineer specializing in facility electrification, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative strategies to integrate with complex energy infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing electrical systems and provide insights for electrification projects.
  • Develop conceptual designs for electrical infrastructure upgrades, particularly for heating and cooling systems.
  • Analyze the impact of facility upgrades on electrical distribution systems, ensuring they meet growing demands.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to model and design electrified heating and cooling systems.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and analysts to deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy or electrical engineering.
  • Proficient in low voltage distribution system design and management.
  • Experience with electric heating systems, including heat pumps and electric boilers.
  • Familiarity with engineering design tools such as Easypower, SKM, or ETAP.
  • Understanding of sustainable building practices and net-zero technologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including IBC, ASHRAE, and NEC.
  • Ability to perform site evaluations and engage with stakeholders effectively.
  • Secret clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Department of Defense projects.
  • Skills in performing electrical studies, including load flow and protective device coordination.
  • Experience in carbon-free energy project design, including solar and wind technologies.
  • Familiarity with building automation and energy management systems.
  • Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering License or EIT Certification is advantageous.
