Position Overview:

As a mechanical engineer specializing in facility decarbonization, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate with existing energy frameworks.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide insights from life-cycle cost assessments to inform building decarbonization initiatives.
  • Analyze the financial implications and feasibility of upgrading energy infrastructure.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to evaluate existing mechanical systems and recommend efficient all-electric technologies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including electrical engineers and financial analysts, to optimize facility operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering or analysis within the energy sector.
  • Familiarity with electrical, heating, cooling, and water systems.
  • Experience in managing critical building systems and understanding building design disciplines.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and energy efficiency standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Secret clearance and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Department of Defense facilities and processes.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating and techno-economic evaluations.
  • Experience in implementing carbon-free energy projects.
  • Professional Engineering License or Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification is a plus.
