As a mechanical engineer specializing in facility decarbonization, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate with existing energy frameworks.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide insights from life-cycle cost assessments to inform building decarbonization initiatives.
- Analyze the financial implications and feasibility of upgrading energy infrastructure.
- Utilize your technical expertise to evaluate existing mechanical systems and recommend efficient all-electric technologies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including electrical engineers and financial analysts, to optimize facility operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering or analysis within the energy sector.
- Familiarity with electrical, heating, cooling, and water systems.
- Experience in managing critical building systems and understanding building design disciplines.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and energy efficiency standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
- Secret clearance and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Department of Defense facilities and processes.
- Proficiency in cost estimating and techno-economic evaluations.
- Experience in implementing carbon-free energy projects.
- Professional Engineering License or Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification is a plus.
