  • Engineering Services (SEL-ES) is in search of a Lead Engineer specializing in Power System Automation with a robust technical foundation in electrical power systems.
Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience in power system automation, software integration, industrial controls, PLCs, and industry protocols such as IEC-61850, DNP, and Modbus, along with familiarity with Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and SCADA practices.

As a Lead Engineer in Power System Automation, your responsibilities may include:

  • Utilizing fundamental principles, practices, and methodologies related to power system software, integration, automation, industrial controls, PLCs, and relevant industry protocols.
  • Providing training and support to clients in the design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.
  • Executing assigned tasks within the defined scope, timeline, and budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Contributing to the development of functional design specifications.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive design documentation, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables.
This position may be a fit for you if you possess the following qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field with over 8 years of relevant experience in electric power systems, industry practices, and software integration.
  • Strong understanding of electric power system protection, control, integration, and communication applications.
  • Proficient knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information technology, and protective relay applications.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with a minimum of 25% travel required.

Compensation Information: This position may be filled at different levels, with anticipated compensation ranging from $91,000 to $142,700 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
