Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a Roadway Discipline Lead to oversee significant projects in the Pacific Northwest region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the principal engineer for large-scale, complex roadway projects.
  • Guide and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff.
  • Review and authorize project deliverables.
  • Provide specialized knowledge for design and study initiatives.
  • Communicate intricate technical solutions effectively to clients.
  • Conduct quality assurance evaluations of work produced by team members.
  • Lead and participate in task force meetings focused on roadway engineering.
  • Prepare estimates for engineering budgets and timelines for major projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State or eligibility to obtain it within six months.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading roadway engineering efforts on Design-Build projects.
  • Proficiency in developing design packages for highway and roadway enhancements in Washington State, particularly for WSDOT.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large engineering team in a dynamic environment.
  • At least 12 years of progressive technical experience with increasing leadership responsibilities.
  • Expertise in Microstation and InRoads software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with WSDOT Design-Build processes is advantageous.

Additional Information:

Local candidates are preferred, and in-office collaboration is required for this role.

Compensation:

Compensation will be determined based on location and individual qualifications, with a competitive range offered.
