Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic team at Psomas. Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and oversee the Traffic Engineering Strategic Plan, ensuring its consistent alignment with the organization's goals.
  • Business Development: Develop and coordinate business development strategies with leaders throughout the company, identifying and capitalizing on new project opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a growing team of five, providing mentorship and guidance in client relationships, marketing and business development, project management, and emerging business lines.
  • Project Management: Secure and oversee diverse traffic signal systems and illumination projects, covering all aspects of the project lifecycle including pre-positioning, pursuit, negotiations, project planning, technical delivery, and financial management.
  • Project Delivery: Lead traffic-focused projects by defining the scope, schedule, and budget, drafting amendments when necessary, coordinating with clients, managing the design team (including subconsultants), and overseeing or organizing quality assurance and quality control.
  • Technical Expertise: Assist with medium to large-scale projects or tasks in planning analysis and traffic operations, including corridor studies, intersection and highway analysis, traffic data collection and performance metrics, transit signal priority (TSP), traffic signal coordination, new technology advancements, and signal/lighting systems and custom lighting design.
  • Performance Monitoring: Be responsible for monitoring project and business Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), including Chargeability, Budget, Revenue, Multiplier, etc.
Requirements
  • Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering or related degree.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure: PE License (State of WA).
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience, with a strong interest in coaching, advising, and influencing others.
  • Business Development: Ability to support business development strategies by securing new project and growth opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Experience: 15+ years of experience in traffic design, project management, and business development.
  • Professional Certification: Professional Transportation Operations Engineer (PTOE).
