Environmental Care Associate

Position Overview:
The Environmental Services Technician - Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of designated areas within our facility. This includes the thorough cleaning and upkeep of resident rooms, communal spaces, laundry facilities, and staff work areas.
Compensation:
$16.90 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
Flexible start times are available, with potential shifts including 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Weekend rotation is included.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and maintain effective communication with all staff and residents.
- Uphold a positive representation of the organization within the community, aligning with our mission and values.
- Provide on-call services as required.
- Execute various cleaning duties in skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living areas.
- Responsibilities include disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and managing waste disposal.
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks such as wall washing and curtain cleaning.
- Respond to and clean up unexpected spills and accidents.
- Utilize floor-cleaning equipment and adhere to safety protocols regarding chemicals and disinfectants.
- Understand and comply with all safety codes and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary, particularly when handling biohazard materials.
- Adhere to resident rights agreements and report any violations promptly.
- Maintain composure in challenging situations with residents and families.
- Work collaboratively with all team members and maintain good attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff.
- Commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and interruptions.
- Willingness to work with various cleaning agents and equipment.
