Position Summary:
The CMM Programmer performs blueprint and GD&T analysis in order to write efficient and effective CMM programs to support product development and manufacturing of parts.
Position Requirements:
- Using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) or other inspection equipment will perform inspections on plastic molded products and assembly components of various sizes and complexities.
- Develops appropriate set-up fixtures on CMM, refines techniques to create CMM programs for new and existing parts and troubleshoots any CMM mechanical or software problems.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts of CMM programs with regard to efficiency and accuracy.
- Provides training on CMM operation to support production and development needs.
- Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
- Use Geometric Dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) to determine part compliance to the print.
- Provides support for New Product Development and Tool Design with respect to programming and fixture design.
- Works with complex part/fixture drawings, specifications, or other reference material to determine dimensional requirements.
- Perform and analyze Gage R&R and capability studies, reviews the results and implements corrective actions to improve results, as needed.
- Perform routine calibration inspections, testing, maintenance and repairs of instruments, meters, gauges and other testing and measuring equipment.
- When mandated, will need to be available to work overtime, be it daily extra hours or weekly with additional days added to the work week.
- Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of SSI Technologies, LLC. which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS Environmental Management Systems.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Professional/Technical Experience, Skills and Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree, required.
- Technical Certification, preferred
- Advance knowledge of CMM machines and programming language, required.
- General knowledge and use of metrology equipment including Keyence 3D Measurement System, Optical Comparator, calipers, height gage and gauge pins, preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of CMM programming, required.
- Fluent in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T), required.
- Intermediate knowledge of blueprint reading, required.
- 2 years of experience to be considered, required.
