Risk Management Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Management Specialist to join our team at Blain's Farm & Fleet. As a Claims Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing low to moderate complexity workers' compensation claims independently, as well as severe claims with supervision and guidance from the Director of Risk Management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage workers' compensation claims, including coordinating medical management and facilitating relationships between claim adjusters, insurance carriers, and medical providers.
- Set up and maintain workers' compensation and general liability claim files for all Company locations.
- Manage general liability claims, including customer injuries and property damage allegations.
- Assist external legal counsel with information requests as necessary.
- Build partnerships with internal and external clients.
- Conduct investigations of associate injuries, customer injuries, and property damage allegations, partnering with Loss Prevention, Environmental Health & Safety, and the Company's insurance carrier.
- Work with store management teams to ensure claims are entered and documented properly in web-based recordkeeping platforms.
- Facilitate successful return to work or modified duty assignments for injured associates.
- Support new store openings by providing required state workers' compensation postings, claim reporting protocols, and training as needed.
- Assist Director of Risk Management in coordinating new vendor approval, including review of contract insurance provisions.
- Collect Certificates of Insurance for vendors, suppliers, and contractors, and maintain online certificate databases.
- Maintain and submit regulatory, compliance, and other paperwork for the risk management department as needed.
- Assist Environmental Health and Safety Manager with identifying safety risks and implementing safety standards.
- Maintain OSHA 300 and 300A documents and related files, to comply with annual reporting requirements.
- Maintain and update Safety Data Sheet (SDS) databases and respond to customer SDS requests.
- 3-5 years of claims management experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of OSHA recordkeeping preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.
- Ability to perform functions with independence while relying on management for some general direction and assignments.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to work with highly confidential information.
- Must maintain a high level of accuracy with speed of data entry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
