We are excited to announce an opening for a Renewable Energy Systems Technician. This position will be based in Richmond, California, and will involve occasional travel for site commissioning, product testing, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

This full-time position entails a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Engaging in daily operations related to electrical engineering systems.
  • Assisting in product research and development (R&D).
  • Participating in prototype assembly and battery testing.
  • Conducting data analysis and performing light warehouse duties.

Travel requirements may reach up to 33% during peak periods for onsite system commissions, with an average of about 10% travel during off-peak times.

Essential Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in electrical engineering principles.
  • Experience in electrical design, prototype assembly, equipment testing, and data analysis.
  • IT networking skills, including troubleshooting and IP address management.
  • Familiarity with electrical maintenance tools and devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective project management and communication skills.
  • Customer service aptitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A keen interest in technology, renewable energy, and energy storage.
  • Flexibility to manage various warehouse tasks, including shipping and receiving.
Preferred Qualifications

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Knowledge of electrical design codes (UL 508A, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, IEEE, ANSI, NESC).
  • Experience with CAD software for electrical project drawings.
  • Ability to review schematics and specifications for accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Modbus and CAN bus communication systems.
  • Hands-on experience with solar PV, energy storage, and power electronics.
  • Experience with Li-Ion battery systems is advantageous.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in a Research and Development (R&D) setting.
