Location: Job sites outside of Richmond, VA
Contract Duration: 11 months, with potential for extension
Compensation: $75 - $85 per hour
Per Diem: $166 per day
Work Schedule: 40+ hours per week, with occasional overtime
Project Overview: Involvement in various renewable energy projects, predominantly solar.
Role Summary: We are seeking a seasoned project coordinator to facilitate the execution of a diverse portfolio of capital and operational projects for our client's renewable energy generation sites. Experience in power station management is essential.
It is crucial to highlight that we are in search of a project coordinator with a strong emphasis on project management rather than construction oversight. This role will support the management team for Generation Station Projects, overseeing capital and operational projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to plan and manage multiple projects at a fleet level. Familiarity with capital and operational budgeting, project lifecycle management, financial documentation, and contract oversight is necessary.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Ensure all projects are conducted with a primary focus on safety and environmental compliance.
- Oversee or assist in various phases of major projects, including project development, site development, permitting, scope creation, and contract negotiations.
- Manage all aspects of smaller improvement projects, including permitting, contract negotiations, and construction activities.
- Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules for both major and minor projects.
- Administer the approved financial plan and cost forecasts to achieve project financial objectives.
- Oversee contracts and commercial elements with suppliers and contractors.
- Utilize the PM Tollgate process to navigate the different stages of project execution.
- Handle all project-related administrative tasks as per project management protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in project management and relevant technologies.
- Knowledge of power generation and pollution control equipment, along with general construction practices.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Capability to monitor project performance and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Proficient in problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications.
- A degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years in project management.
Administrative Duties:
The project coordinator will be responsible for managing travel between assigned sites as necessary.
