Position Overview:

As the Culinary Operations Manager, you will oversee kitchen management while ensuring a safe and hygienic work environment for all team members.

You will be responsible for meal preparation or directing meal preparation in alignment with corporate standards and guidelines. This role is perfect for a dynamic and entrepreneurial culinary expert.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designs regular and customized menus following established guidelines.
  • Adheres to standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
  • Completes and utilizes daily production worksheets and waste tracking sheets.
  • Tastes finished meals to guarantee quality and consistency.
  • Trains kitchen personnel in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards.
  • Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas.
  • Ensures kitchen staff adheres to assigned schedules.
  • Manages inventory of food and non-food supplies to remain within established guidelines while ensuring product availability.
  • Makes decisions regarding the use of leftover food products in compliance with company policies.
  • Complies with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures, as evidenced by audits.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures, including incident reporting.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience.
  • Extensive catering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on chef experience is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
