Job Title: Director of Construction

Prime Data Centers is seeking a highly experienced Director of Construction to lead our construction efforts in delivering hyperscale data centers projects. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from conception to completion, working closely with external and internal cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead pre-construction and construction efforts for active projects.
  • Develop RFPs, manage overall project budgets, and oversee pre-bid planning and coordination.
  • Coordinate and supervise general contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Oversee on-site physical construction activities to ensure timely and quality execution.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, stakeholders, and budget to align with company goals.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams, operations, and clients for seamless project delivery.
  • Submit monthly financial reports and review monthly contractor billing and conduct site visits to verify progress.
  • Negotiate, manage, and maintain contracts with new and existing vendors.
  • Document lessons learned and drive process improvements, cost savings, and schedule efficiencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct or supervise weekly safety inspections to ensure compliance with Prime's EHS policies.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment through positive feedback and coaching.
  • Support sales by engaging with customers and managing project delivery according to lease agreements.
  • Partner with the Construction Cost and Finance teams to drive forecast/variance analysis and ensure MSAs and project authorizations are executed for new and existing vendors.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including qualification and ongoing relationship building.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years' experience in mission critical construction management.
  • Data Center construction experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent professional experience.
  • Effective project management, presentation development, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary teams, including contractors, engineers, and consultants.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Procore, Asana, etc.).
  • MS Office experience required, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
