Pet Care Center Director

As a pivotal leader in our organization, the Pet Care Center Director is tasked with embodying Petco's mission of fostering healthier pets and happier people. This role is essential in cultivating a high-performing team that drives sales growth while prioritizing the welfare and proper care of all animals.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership
  • Recruit, train, and retain a diverse team that reflects the Petco brand and enhances guest loyalty.
  • Develop and mentor team members to ensure operational excellence and adherence to Petco standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and engagement.
  • Manage partner performance and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
Sales and Performance Management
  • Achieve or surpass sales and profitability targets for the Pet Care Center.
  • Optimize labor hours and payroll to enhance productivity.
  • Analyze financial and operational reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Plan and execute marketing strategies and community events to promote the Pet Care Center.
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure the health and welfare of all animals within the facility.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure proper merchandising practices.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as accounting and payroll in a timely manner.
  • Uphold the professional appearance and cleanliness of the Pet Care Center.
Leadership and Culture
  • Demonstrate inspiring leadership that motivates teams and fosters a positive business climate.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Encourage innovative ideas from partners to enhance efficiency and guest engagement.
  • Develop a strong talent pipeline to support the company's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three years of management experience, preferably in retail.
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment

This role primarily operates indoors, with occasional responsibilities that may require brief departures from the Pet Care Center.
