Job Summary

To effectively and profitably oversee and direct ramp operations by delivering a safe, high-quality service encompassing a variety of ground handling offerings to our clients.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary is $130K annually. Full-time team members receive a comprehensive array of health and wellness benefits, including a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid vacation, sick leave, and company-observed holidays.

Your Responsibilities

Planning

  • Assist in formulating the operating budgets for the upcoming year for prior approval by the General Manager.
  • Efficient resource allocation (personnel, equipment).
  • Adhere to Swissport's standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Quality Management

  • Ensure service standards are met.
  • Maintain strong and effective business relationships with clients and various regulatory bodies, including Airport Management, Customs, and Immigration.
  • Foster robust leadership among all supervisors and ramp personnel through excellent communication and a positive work atmosphere.

Controlling & Reporting

  • Monitor and manage performance KPIs such as baggage handling, on-time arrivals/departures, ensuring compliance with established objectives.
  • Ensure all operational transaction records are accurately maintained.
  • Guarantee adherence to administrative and control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all employees comply with company regulations and other authority requirements.
  • Administer disciplinary actions with subordinates as necessary.

Support

  • Ensure effective planning methods and procedures are in place to guarantee adequate resources, both personnel and equipment, to meet operational demands.
  • Implement, maintain, and closely supervise all safety and security protocols related to personnel, equipment, facilities, and aircraft involved in operations.
  • Resolve conflicts and irregularities, taking appropriate action.
  • Participate in necessary internal and external meetings.
  • Implement and oversee the local emergency response plan.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred, but not mandatory.
  • 3-5 years of managerial experience in ground handling operations with a strong emphasis on procedural compliance, safety practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of effectively prioritizing, multitasking, and achieving objectives within set deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of ground handling operations and services.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Availability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies.
  • This role requires discretion, sound judgment, and prompt, accurate decision-making, as well as the management of complex situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Able to perform under pressure.
  • Must be capable of working in adverse weather conditions.
