Job Description

Job Summary

The Alumni Relations Manager is responsible for fostering strong connections between alumni, parents, and the school. This role involves managing the school's alumni relations program, planning and executing advancement events, and recruiting and managing the alumni board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Alumni Relations
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni relations strategy to foster life-long relationships between alumni, parents, and the school.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with alumni, parents, and other stakeholders to promote the school's mission and values.
    • Plan and execute events to engage alumni, including reunions, professional networking events, community service opportunities, and other activities.
    • Recruit, coach, and manage the alumni board to ensure its success and effectiveness.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni communications program to keep alumni informed about school news and events.
  • Events
    • Plan, execute, and manage all advancement stewardship events, including receptions, auctions, and other activities.
    • Partner with internal departments and administration to execute events and ensure their success.
    • Develop and manage event budgets, including vendor selection and management.
    • Coordinate with parent volunteers and other stakeholders to support events.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive event marketing strategy to promote events and engage alumni.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Partner with the Head of Advancement to ensure revenue goals are met for fundraising events.
    • Recruit, coach, and manage parent volunteer teams to support events.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive stewardship program to recognize and thank donors and alumni.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive data management system to track alumni engagement and event participation.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as marketing, communications, or non-profit management.
    • 2+ years of experience in alumni relations, event planning, or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
    • Experience with event planning software and other related tools.

Working Conditions

  • 80% Indoors, 20% outdoors.
  • Ability to move around the school and external venues to attend to event set-up and other matters.
  • Occasional requirement to lift more than 30 lbs.
  • Sit and stand for an extended amount of time.
