Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network, server, and infrastructure to ensure optimal Data Center operations.
  • Install and configure network equipment, servers, and cabling to align with both customer and organizational requirements.
  • Oversee network cable installations and removals, manage space planning, and facilitate cabinet/equipment setups, including fabrication and tray installations.
  • Engage in troubleshooting hardware and connectivity challenges, replacing hardware components as necessary, and installing patch cabling.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of cabinet power strips and wireless access points, addressing any device connectivity issues within the Data Center.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, network, storage, and system administration teams to deliver seamless IT support and ensure adherence to organizational IT standards and governance.
  • This role requires full-time physical presence at the Data Center.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is essential.

A minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience in IT technical or infrastructure roles is required.

Candidates should possess one or more of the following qualifications:

Data Center Expertise

• Over 6 years of hands-on experience in monitoring and managing data center power and cooling systems (including UPS, PDU, STS, ATS, CRAC, Generators, transformers, rectifiers, and chillers).

• At least 4 years of experience in constructing and deploying data center racks and enclosures.

• 4 years of experience utilizing and implementing building management and monitoring systems.

• 4 years of experience in managing and reporting on data center systems and capacity planning.

• 4 years of experience in planning and installing copper and fiber optic cabling within data centers.

• Proficiency in developing and organizing documentation and procedures is required.

• Strong judgment skills in prioritizing work and resolving issues effectively.

• A customer-focused approach to service delivery, with effective communication skills for interacting with clients regarding requests and incidents.

• Excellent conflict resolution abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.

• Team-oriented individuals who thrive in collaborative settings.

• Familiarity with MS Access databases is preferred.

• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within a data center context.

• Understanding of high voltage filtered systems, including UPS and PDU systems.

• Advanced knowledge of CRAC systems and both chilled and air-cooled systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of generator operations.

• Awareness of local building codes, fire codes, and regulations to ensure compliance.
