The Surveillance and Risk Analysis (SRA) Department plays a crucial role in supporting senior management and supervisory functions by delivering comprehensive analyses of banking conditions, monitoring emerging risks, and assisting with examinations and inspections. We are currently seeking a motivated individual with a keen interest in community banking risk, banking policy, and data analysis to join our team. This role involves contributing to daily operations and leading or participating in strategic projects aimed at enhancing our understanding of community banking dynamics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze banking industry performance and emerging policy issues, preparing concise summaries and presentations for management.
  • Lead and contribute to the department's quantitative initiatives by developing and maintaining monitoring tools and reports.
  • Utilize knowledge of financial trends and risks to create impactful presentations for senior management engagements.
  • Support or participate in select bank examinations and inspections.
  • Engage with Federal Reserve System groups to review regulatory and industry matters.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience or four years of experience as a bank examiner is typically required.
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, business, or finance is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and creativity in analyzing complex issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience presenting to large audiences or executive management.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships effectively.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and the banking sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the capability to interpret complex financial concepts and assess the impact of regulatory changes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (especially macros/visual basics), Tableau, and SQL is preferred; experience with R and/or Python is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, PRM, FRM, CPA, or CIA are advantageous but not mandatory.
