Position: Cloud Solutions Architect

Reports To: Vice President of Engineering

Work Arrangement: Remote

Position Summary: At Sterling Computers Corporation, we leverage cloud technology to enhance and streamline our IT infrastructure, automate processes, and drive innovative solutions. We are in search of a skilled cloud solutions architect with a proven track record in executing various cloud initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of cloud technologies, platforms, and applications, with the capability to tailor these solutions to bolster our operational security and efficiency. Profound expertise in cloud architecture and strategic solutioning, along with advanced industry insights, are crucial for maintaining Sterling's competitive edge. The cloud solutions architect will play a vital role in enhancing the daily operations of our Cloud sales team and contribute significantly to the growth of our cloud services.

Essential Technical Skills: The Cloud Solutions Architect should demonstrate proficiency in AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle services, along with the ability to provide architectural design and strategic guidance. Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is preferred. General proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Qualifications: A minimum of 2+ years of experience in public cloud environments is required, with prior IT administration experience being advantageous. Familiarity with pre-sales roles in the cloud sector is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, while post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Customer service-oriented, willing to go above and beyond to meet client needs.
  • Skilled in accurately documenting customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Basic understanding of IT products, particularly software solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement cloud solutions that are essential for all clients utilizing major public cloud providers.
  • Confidently discuss Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Financial Operations (FinOps) at an executive level.
  • Engage in continuous learning of new cloud technologies that could enhance existing solutions.
  • Regularly communicate with teams to identify opportunities and potential challenges, documenting key requirements and decisions to guide solution direction.
  • Understand and assess the five pillars of the well-architected framework.
  • Respond to client requests for information, inquiries, and assistance in solution development via phone and email.
  • Collaborate with distributors, manufacturers, partners, and resellers to gather pricing and product information for quotation preparation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities in Salesforce.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior account managers or the Vice President of Engineering.
