We are in search of a seasoned cloud architect with proven experience in executing diverse cloud projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies, platforms, and applications, along with the capability to tailor these solutions to bolster our operational security and efficiency. A comprehensive knowledge of cloud architecture and solution development, coupled with advanced industry insights, is crucial for maintaining Sterling's competitive edge. The cloud architect will significantly influence the operational efficiency of our Cloud sales and contribute to the ongoing expansion of our cloud business.

Essential Technical Skills: Our Cloud Architect should have expertise in AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle services, with the ability to deliver architectural design and strategic guidance. Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Educational Background and Experience: The Cloud Architect should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in public cloud environments, with prior IT administration experience being advantageous. Understanding of pre-sales functions within the cloud sector is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, while post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Friendly, patient demeanor with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to accurately document customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of IT products, particularly software solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement cloud solutions that are essential for all clients utilizing major public cloud providers.
  • Confidently discuss Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, AI, and FinOps at an executive level.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new cloud technologies that can enhance existing solutions.
  • Regularly communicate with teams to identify opportunities and potential challenges, documenting key requirements and decisions to guide solution direction.
  • Understand and evaluate the five pillars of the well-architected framework.
  • Respond to client requests for information, inquiries, and assistance in solution development via phone and email.
  • Engage with distributors, manufacturers, partners, and resellers to gather pricing and product details for quotation preparation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities in Salesforce.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior account managers or the VP of Engineering.
