We are in search of a seasoned cloud architect with a proven track record in executing diverse cloud projects. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of cloud technologies, platforms, and applications, with the ability to tailor these solutions to enhance our operational security and efficiency. Profound knowledge of cloud architecture and solution design, coupled with advanced industry insights, is crucial for maintaining Sterling's competitive edge. The cloud architect will significantly influence the daily operations of Cloud sales and contribute to the ongoing expansion of our cloud services.

Essential Technical Skills: The Cloud Architect must demonstrate proficiency in AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle services, along with the capability to provide architectural design and strategic guidance. Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Education and Experience Requirements: The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in public cloud environments, with prior IT administration experience being advantageous. Understanding of pre-sales roles within the cloud sector is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, while post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Accurate and efficient documentation of client information and sales activities.

  • General knowledge of IT products, particularly software solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement cloud solutions essential for all clients with major public cloud providers.
  • Confidently discuss Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, AI, and FinOps at an executive level.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new cloud technologies that could enhance existing solutions.
  • Regularly communicate with teams to identify opportunities and potential challenges, documenting key requirements and decisions to guide solution direction.
  • Understand and assess the five pillars of the well-architected framework.
  • Respond to client inquiries for information, questions, and assistance in solution development via phone and email.
  • Engage with distributors, manufacturers, partners, and resellers to gather pricing and product information for quotation preparation.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities in Salesforce.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior account managers or the VP of Engineering.
