Overview

As an Electrical Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role within the organization and contribute to the overall success and enhanced operations at Continental Cement.

The ideal candidate will assist in supervising the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems. You will lead a team of electricians and ensure compliance with safety and plant regulations.
Perform all tasks in a safe and professional manner in accordance with plant rules, quality standards, and company policies.
Responsible for ensuring that all plant electrical systems meet applicable codes.

Assist in coordinating the planning and scheduling of all electrical projects throughout the year and help develop the annual department budget, management, and follow-up once approved.

Support capital projects requiring electrical expertise and coordinate with relevant departments.
Record and analyze data, initiating appropriate work orders when necessary.
Initiate work directly performed by the execution group.
Assist electrical department employees in completing routine outages and emergency tasks.
Responsible for optimizing and maintaining electrical components for plant operations to promote proactive improvements.
Ensure proper utilization and reliability of instruments.
Encourage new upgrades and features to enhance plant performance.
Assist in developing and maintaining plant reports.
Support the design, monitoring, and active management of preventative maintenance programs.

Initiate, authorize, and schedule routine contract work and ensure administrative functions for effective cost control are in place, such as providing the scope of work to vendors and approving purchase order requisitions while maintaining a cost control spreadsheet for budget management.

Conduct follow-up inspections after repairs and/or new equipment installations.
Assist in ensuring compliance with Automation, IT, and corporate guidelines.
Provide technical expertise in specific areas of the cement plant, effectively communicating with various levels.
Assist in entering new equipment numbers and updating the equipment parts catalog.
Contribute to the budgeting process, offering advice in planning and scheduling major electrical activities.
Utilize 'Maximo' to manage activities and generate maintenance KPIs to measure the effectiveness of electrical roles. Publish maintenance KPIs monthly, analyze them, and suggest improvements.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all electrical substations and maintenance shops.
Ensure proactive electrical analysis is present at process, coordination, and reliability meetings.
Stay active and knowledgeable about current safety regulations and guidelines, promoting overall plant safety, including implementing and managing the Summit Safety Program.
Skills & Experience
5 or more years of experience in industrial process systems or equivalent education
Electrical aptitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing – English required.
Must be a team player and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Possess strong leadership skills.
Be a motivated, self-starter, proactive and action-oriented by nature.
Ability to meet on-call responsibilities associated with a 24/7 plant operation.
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including physical, background check, and drug screen.

Preferred:
Post-secondary education from a two-year college, technical school, or equivalent program
Proven experience in a similar role within a cement or production-oriented environment

Frequent exposure to walking on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions, moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, high and/or confined spaces, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and explosives.

Occasionally able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) lbs. independently and tolerate moderate noise levels.
