Groundsperson with CDL

W A Kendall and Company LLC is seeking a highly skilled Groundsperson with CDL to join our team in vegetation management. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing various tasks from the ground, including clearing brush and trees, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

• Vegetation Management: Clear brush and trees as directed, using handsaws, pole saws, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Site Maintenance: Keep work areas clear of debris, load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris, and feed brush into a brush chipper.
• Equipment Operation: Drive trucks or operate other equipment as assigned, and perform basic maintenance services on trucks and equipment.
• Safety and Security: Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area by enforcing safe job practices, keeping work areas clean and orderly, and staying in frequent voice communication with co-workers.
• Storm Work: Perform duties for storm work as needed.

• Education: High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Skills and Abilities: Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saws and pruners in uneven terrain, and be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Certifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.

This position requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE). The successful candidate must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.
