HVAC Systems Officer

As an HVAC Systems Officer, you will discover that working at sea transcends mere employment; it embodies a lifestyle. Your role will involve overseeing and maintaining the ship's ventilation systems, primary AC water chiller systems, and domestic refrigeration units to ensure our luxury vessels are both safe and efficient. Utilizing your ventilation expertise, you will be expected to promptly address defects, prioritize tasks, and ensure that all work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current safety and company standards. You will collaborate with the Electro-Technical department to maintain and execute the asset management plan, ensuring the ship meets the operational requirements of the business while developing the ventilation team.

Building on your experience in the refrigeration and ventilation sectors, a relevant Refrigeration Qualification (e.g., City and Guilds or NVQ3) is preferred. You should be highly organized, composed under pressure, and comfortable engaging with a diverse range of individuals, from colleagues to passengers. Qualifications Summary of Requirements:

  • Relevant Refrigeration Qualification (e.g., City and Guilds or NVQ3) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in the refrigeration industry preferred
  • Experience in ventilation systems preferred
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; Marlins English test of Proficiency passed (if applicable)
  • F-gas Certification
  • Valid ENG1 medical certificate or equivalent for the duration of each voyage

Experience aboard a cruise ship is advantageous but not mandatory. We prioritize hiring individuals with the right attitudes and strengths over specific competencies.

In addition to a robust technical foundation, you should enjoy problem-solving, hands-on tasks, and possess a self-motivated and reliable nature, always eager to take on additional responsibilities and assist others. A natural communicator, you will frequently ask questions and share knowledge, adapting your communication style to fit various situations.
