Position: HVAC Control Systems Engineer

Location: Overland Park, KS

Job Overview:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC control systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting and developing HVAC schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, CAN, Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet, DCS, and ICS.
  • Expertise in selecting electrical and electronic components including MCBs, ELCBs, EC motors, pumps, and solenoid valves.
  • Skilled in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Practical testing experience using tools like clamp meters and multimeters.
  • Ability to work with high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience in managing component obsolescence for items such as transformers, relays, and capacitors.
  • Strong capability to engage with end customers and provide quotations for electrical controls.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of completing tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in PLC logic creation and prototype model testing.
  • Coordinate offshore activities.
  • Understand client requirements and identify challenges.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning processes.
  • Identify opportunities for developing proprietary products to reduce costs.
  • Engage with end customers for quoting and order processing.
  • Familiarity with SAP, ERP, BOM, and supply chain management.
  • Involvement in quoting and troubleshooting processes.
  • Focus on key areas such as HVAC, VFDs, chillers, transformers, and plumbing design.
