Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee civil engineering projects.
  • Develop initial design concepts for significant phases of land planning initiatives.
  • Assist senior engineers by undertaking fundamental engineering tasks and collaborating on team designs.
  • Create and produce conceptual plans and specifications for projects related to site layout, grading, drainage systems, stormwater management, paving, and utility design.
  • Support the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, and necessary documentation for subdivisions, commercial projects, multi-family developments, and public works.
  • Review, interpret, and modify engineering drawings, reports, plans, and specifications for major undertakings.
  • Conduct research in challenging areas and resolve various issues (e.g., conflicting design requirements, material unsuitability, complex coordination needs).
  • Engage in contract bidding and administration. Supervise and monitor project design and progress, ensuring coordination with relevant city, state, and county officials, as well as other external agencies.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, external consultants, and internal staff. Maintain communication and collaboration with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and other stakeholders as necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in land/site planning and design for water services and large industrial projects is preferred. Summer internship experience is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in basic AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D techniques and principles is essential. Familiarity with Microstation, Geopak, Land Desktop, or other CADD software is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Must hold registration as an Engineer In Training.
  • Eligibility for professional licensure (P.E.) is required.
