The Homeword Board of Directors is in search of a Chief Executive Officer to guide and enhance Homeword as it enters a new chapter in our organization.

This is a remarkable opportunity for a dedicated, mission-oriented, and seasoned leader to take on this full-time role.

The Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the leadership team and provide essential support to all Homeword staff.

Collaboration with Homeword's devoted Board of Directors will be a key aspect of this position.

The Chief Executive Officer will oversee and manage the daily operations of Homeword through strategic direction, empowering our dynamic team, and ensuring the effective coordination and expansion of our programs and services.

Key Responsibilities: The Homeword Board of Directors is eager to hear from candidates who bring a diverse array of skills, professional experiences, and viewpoints.

We are looking for candidates with experience in team leadership, exceptional fundraising capabilities, and a deep understanding of the significance of modeling a sustainable, compassionate, and efficient work/life balance.

Scope of Work for the Chief Executive Officer: Possesses extensive fundraising expertise and experience with successful direct donation requests of up to $75,000.

Experience in developing diversified funding sources to ensure the financial stability and meet fundraising objectives for budgets exceeding $1,000,000.
Familiarity with fundraising principles, along with experience in donor cultivation and stewardship to lead a development team.

Strong business acumen, including financial and budget management, assessment and refinement of staff roles and responsibilities, and implementation of systems and practices designed to maximize Homeword's service impact.

Utilizes persuasive, effective, and solution-oriented communication strategies that respect diverse perspectives and support organizational needs.

Board Governance & Team Leadership:
Experience in working with and managing a Board of Directors. Proven experience in building robust community partnerships, managing collaborations, and engaging with the community.

Ability to manage a large team across various inter-organizational programs while modeling a sustainable work/life balance and providing oversight to the organization.

Expertise in project management that includes experience negotiating with external partners and vendors.
Experience in training leadership and providing career development to ensure staff capabilities and growth opportunities.
Values a team-oriented approach with the ability to lead in a collaborative work environment with curiosity and creativity. Capable of establishing, maintaining, and respecting boundaries when necessary.

Experience in developing and implementing programs that are strategic, well-staffed, well-resourced, financially sound, impactful, scalable, replicable, and responsive to community needs.

Educational Background: A related degree or equivalent experience is required for this role.
Advanced degree in a related field and 5-10 years of experience preferred.

Skills/Experience: Knowledge of organizational management with a demonstrated ability to manage support staff and develop high-performing teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Effective in nonprofit administration, meeting facilitation, consensus-building, organizational planning, and budgeting.
Proven track record in fundraising, increasing donor commitment, and enhancing giving programs.
Able to demonstrate clear results in donor development, fundraising, grant writing, and public relations.
Working understanding of – and commitment to – the principles of trauma-informed care.
Persuasive and passionate communicator (both oral and written) with excellent interpersonal skills.

Team Leader with a commitment and ability to lead in a collaborative work environment across multiple stakeholders including the Board of Directors, staff, and the population Homeword serves.

Detail-oriented with strong strategic, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills.
Demonstrated experience with donor databases and financial management software.

Ability to work with diverse groups and constituencies and a strong commitment to supporting young mothers and their children.

Status:
Exempt, Full-time

Pay Range:
$105,000 - $120,000 salary per year

Benefits:

Schedule:
Monday - Friday with some evenings and special events.
