Position Summary

The Field Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role within the Admissions department, executing Ecology Project International's marketing, recruitment, and sales initiatives while collaborating with program offices to facilitate student courses at various field locations. This role is pivotal in establishing and nurturing partnerships with educators and institutions, aiding in student recruitment and enrollment, and serving as a bridge between EPI's program offices and confirmed school groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with educational institutions, educators, organizations, and students.
  • Organize, promote, and conduct informational sessions for students, parents, and educators, either in-person or via virtual platforms.
  • Provide detailed information regarding EPI's methodologies, enrollment procedures, academic offerings, and logistical arrangements.
  • Coordinate travel plans, logistics, and materials for conferences and recruitment events.
  • Oversee the application, selection, and enrollment processes for teacher fellowships.
  • Assist in the preparation, execution, and follow-up required for acquiring new leads.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from educators, students, families, and other potential participants.
  • Collaborate with the Enrollment team on documentation and payment processing.
  • Maintain the participant database by updating records, adding new information, and tracking communications.
  • Support the bi-annual revision of key external marketing materials and lead efforts to ensure accurate updates to Professional Development resources based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Assist the Marketing & Communications team with integrated marketing and recruitment campaigns.
  • Organize seasonal calendars and schedule groups for field courses at all EPI program locations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with program offices regarding itineraries, scheduling, course activities, research initiatives, accommodations, and curriculum.
  • Manage air travel arrangements for over 200 participants within specific site parameters.
  • Occasionally serve as Duty Officer on the 24-hour emergency response cell phone and provide support as an incident responder.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or sales.
  • A strong enthusiasm for teamwork and a results-driven mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, persistence, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and sustain strong relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quick response times for existing accounts.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to apply practical solutions to everyday challenges.
  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of EPI.
  • A good sense of humor.
  • The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing, articulate, creative, and determined.

Preferred:

  • Degree in sales, marketing, communication, or science education.
  • Experience in direct sales.
  • Familiarity with experiential education and inquiry-based learning.
  • Classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience living and working in Latin America, particularly in Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, or Ecuador.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva.
  • Experience with collaborative project management tools like Asana or Trello.

Work Schedule & Location

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) with standard office hours typically from 9 am to 5 pm. Occasional travel may be required for conferences, teacher fellowships, and school visits.

Compensation: $41,344-42,814/year based on experience, in accordance with EPI's compensation philosophy.
