At the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, we are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Director to lead our HR department and drive the growth and culture of our 75-person organization. As a strategic HR leader, you will be responsible for shaping our people strategy, ensuring flawless execution of HR operations, and fostering a positive, supportive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Administer human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance and talent management, team productivity, recognition, engagement, training and development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Conduct research, analysis of organizational trends, and make recommendations, including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
- Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and recent technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, and apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to the leadership team.
- At least 10 years of work experience, including at least 5-7 in strategic HR and HR systems, people & culture work, performance management, and talent acquisition.
- Excellent judgment, self-awareness, and an action-oriented approach.
- Great strategic thinking, prioritization, and organization skills.
- Ability to communicate to individuals, groups, and employees about priorities, policies, and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; master's degree a plus.
- At least five to seven years of human resource management experience required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in operational business partnering roles.
