Job Title: HR Manager

Rock Energy Cooperative, a leading MRA Member, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its team. This is an on-site work opportunity that requires a strong background in Human Resources and union environments.

Job Summary

The HR Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and administering all HR programs and projects for Rock Energy Cooperative. Key functions include staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, labor relations, safety, and employee evaluation and development.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop, administer, interpret, and maintain personnel policies, programs, and procedures in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  2. Advise supervisors, managers, and directors on employee performance issues, manage or conduct employee investigations, and conduct and summarize exit interviews.
  3. Maintain updated position descriptions and ensure adherence to policies and procedures pertaining to human resources management.
  4. Manage the administration of the cooperative's employee benefit programs, including retirement plans, flexible spending, deferred compensation, and insurance programs.
  5. Identify recruiting sources and strategies, create job postings, supplemental questionnaires, and advertisements, and conduct interviews and testing.
  6. Participate in negotiations, resolve grievances, and assist and advise the CEO during labor relation negotiations.
  7. Oversee Workers' Compensation program, including working with Claims Adjustors and Nurse Case Managers, and manage injury on duty and return to work issues.
  8. Perform all other related duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a closely related field, and three to five years of experience.
  • Must have experience dealing with unions.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and ability to learn cooperative software.
  • General knowledge of employment law and HRIS.
  • Certification (IPMA-CP and/or PHR/SPHR) preferred.
Work Environment

The position is primarily an office-based position with visits to the warehouse and out in the field. The employee occasionally performs work-related travel.

Compensation Range

$85,000 - $95,000
