Job Overview

Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Resident Engineer to collaborate with our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive project oversight, ensuring that all engineering tasks align with quality standards and project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the overall planning and execution of significant project activities, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines.
  • Proactively identify and address project risks, performance challenges, and potential obstacles.
  • Ensure that all necessary project documentation is created, reviewed, approved, and maintained according to established standards and procedures.
  • Facilitate project review meetings to assess progress and address any issues.
  • Oversee the allocation and management of project resources throughout all phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Confirm that project management personnel are adequately trained in relevant requirements, including project management and controls.
  • Perform additional program management tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate daily activities with team members to ensure smooth execution of client-defined tasks and project timelines.
  • Represent Shrewsberry with professionalism and deliver high-quality results that align with project objectives.
  • Utilize project accounting software to accurately report employee expenses and time tracking.
  • Employ various software tools (e.g., Procore, P6) as necessary for project management.
  • Participate in decision-making regarding technical strategies, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Travel to client meetings, conduct fieldwork, and perform site inspections as required.
  • Supervise and manage additional personnel as needed for project success.
  • Be mindful of cultural, political, and community contexts during project execution.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the organization's insurance policy.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Over 20 years of experience in providing consulting, planning, design, and construction services to municipal clients, particularly in water and wastewater sectors.
  • Extensive experience in project management and leadership roles.
  • Professional Engineer license is required.

  • Exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledgeable in obtaining necessary construction permits and licenses.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines while contributing positively to team dynamics.
  • Decisive, with sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Skilled in organizing complex issues into manageable tasks for resolution.
  • Capable of prioritizing and planning work activities efficiently.
