This role involves supporting the DOE Office of EERE throughout the entire project management lifecycle, including Funding Opportunity Announcements, award negotiations, active project management, and project closeout. Responsibilities include daily interactions with internal teams such as legal, contracting, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and communications, as well as external communications with project recipients in academia, nonprofits, for-profit businesses, and National Laboratories. The projects supported span from early-stage research and development to the deployment of commercial technologies.

The position will directly support one of EERE's technical program offices, including areas such as Bioenergy, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Wind Energy, Water Power, Geothermal, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization, State and Community Energy, or the Office of Indian Energy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing project performance, monitoring, documentation, and progress assessment for DOE-funded initiatives.
  • Facilitating the development, coordination, and management of competitive solicitations and merit reviews.
  • Engaging with DOE stakeholders to address needs and gaps at the Federal level.
  • Assisting in the creation of internal briefing materials for decision-makers and contributing to the technical review of external communications.
  • Effectively representing program status to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Project Management Experience (PMP certification preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Successful completion of drug screening.
  • Ability to work onsite with a hybrid work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge or experience in renewable energy or energy efficiency technologies.
  • Capability to actively track and monitor government-funded research and development projects.
  • Experience working within DOE EERE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team.
  • Ability to manage multiple long and short-term projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Benefits:

Boston Government Services offers a competitive total compensation package, including Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401K, and Long and Short-Term Disability.

Compensation for this role typically ranges between $75,000 and $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and may vary based on geographical location.
