Overview

The role involves precise assembly of sub-electronic and mechanical components for integration into advanced assemblies. You will construct multi-tier assemblies following detailed instructions, schematics, and visual aids that adhere to IPC standards and By Light's quality benchmarks. The position also includes networking, installation, and integration of these assemblies through to the finalization of By Light's product offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Typical duties encompass:
  • Utilizing mechanical expertise to execute routine assembly tasks.
  • Demonstrated capability to operate both power and hand tools in an Electro/Mechanical setting.
  • Proficiently completing sub and higher-level assembly tasks based on moderate to complex schematics and work instructions.
  • Effectively assembling fundamental to moderate first article assemblies in accordance with quality and IPC workmanship standards.
  • Moderate computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical failure modes.
  • Employing testing equipment, jigs, and fixtures to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Commitment to a culture of continuous improvement and participation in Lean metric reporting.
  • Collaborating with team members and various support teams to enhance knowledge and experience in By Light's methodologies.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with the ability to undergo on-the-job training and excel in a capabilities evaluation.
  • Willingness to learn mechanical assembly processes and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status).
Physical Demands

In performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must also be able to sit and occasionally climb or balance; use hands to touch, and reach forward and overhead. Frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds unassisted is required, with occasional assistance needed for moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include color vision, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. There may be exposure to hazardous materials.

The work environment is primarily climate-controlled, with occasional exposure to non-climate-controlled settings. The employee may face risks associated with electrical shock. Noise levels in the manufacturing area are considered low to moderate, while the trailer storage area may be moderate to loud.
