Key Responsibilities:
The Healthcare Admissions Coordinator is tasked with gathering and confirming demographic details, insurance benefits, and eligibility. This role involves assigning the appropriate medical record and account number, thereby ensuring a reliable database for accurate billing and clinical information.

WORK SCHEDULE:
This position operates onsite during NIGHT shifts, with varied start times including 7:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 11:00 PM, along with rotating weekends and holidays.

Note:
Shift schedules may be adjusted based on business needs related to patient volume.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Collecting comprehensive and precise demographic and financial information from various sources, including patient interviews, physician offices, and internal departments.
- Securing necessary signatures on legal consents and insurance documentation.
- Conducting required pre-certifications, credit referrals, or deposit collections.
- Entering data into the computer system and meticulously documenting any incomplete admissions/registrations as per prescribed methods.
- Acquiring pre-certification, referral, or authorization numbers and updating patient files.

- Informing patients, family members, physicians, and/or supervisors about insurance coverage issues, as well as notifying patients of co-payments, deductibles, or deposits required, ensuring all information is documented in the computer system.
- Reviewing physician orders for completeness and ensuring all required information is present.
- Completing Medicare Compliance and obtaining ABN when necessary.
- Possessing knowledge of all Federal, State, and Local laws regarding insurance regulations and multiple computer systems.
- Maintaining a high level of customer service at all times, directing unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Answering phone calls while adhering to a pre-established script and providing assistance to callers.
- Completing all shift responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Adhering to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures as defined by the organization.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical environment or a customer service role that involves data entry skills, insurance, or other online platforms, with a typing speed of at least 35 WPM.
- Familiarity with medical terminology or the ability to learn.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in Emergency Department admissions.

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $37,600.00 - $56,400.00. Compensation decisions are influenced by various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, security clearances, licensure, certifications, and other organizational needs.
