Job Overview

Transcend Credit Union is seeking a dedicated
CLIENT SERVICES ASSOCIATE / TELLER to join our team.

Compensation starting at $18/hour

Prior experience in a teller role is strongly preferred.

Candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check, credit evaluation, and drug screening.
Applicants should have a stable work history; frequent job changes will not be considered.

Ideal candidates are outgoing and possess strong conversational skills. Sales experience is a plus.

In this role, you will provide a range of financial services to both current and prospective members of the Credit Union.

  • Assess the financial needs of members and recommend suitable Credit Union solutions. Promote relevant products and services to enhance member satisfaction and meet sales objectives.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with members by delivering prompt, reliable, and courteous service during financial transactions.
  • Conduct routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing.
  • Open new accounts and manage existing ones. Prepare new account documentation and provide members with essential membership information.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all Credit Union products and services, as well as related policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift and ensure totals align with core processor records. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies, reporting them to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist in Call Center operations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is mandatory.
  • Prior teller experience is highly desirable. Lending experience is advantageous.
  • Sales experience is preferred.
  • Exhibit a consistently positive and helpful demeanor with both internal and external members. Act promptly to resolve issues and deliver exceptional service.
  • Present a polished and professional image in conduct and appearance.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with members and colleagues.
  • Ability to proficiently operate a personal computer and relevant software utilized by the Credit Union.
  • Capability to effectively and accurately cross-sell Credit Union products and services.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
  • The employee primarily sits but may occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee should be able to occasionally lift bags of coins (approximately 25 pounds).

Work Environment:

  • This position operates within a professional office and banking environment. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines may be used regularly.
