Are you prepared to operate commercial motor vehicles locally and assist in delivering exceptional service? As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for executing semi-trailer relocations within the yard, managing yard activities (such as trailer check-ins, traffic management, internal communications with operational teams, etc.), conducting yard inspections, completing driver training programs (Hostler, CDL School, etc.), and maneuvering various vehicle types (including but not limited to hostlers and day cabs) to enhance Amazon's transportation framework.

This position is subject to DOT regulations. An offer is contingent upon successfully passing a DOT-regulated pre-employment background check and DOT physical examination.

Applicants must possess a valid state-issued driver's license, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File (DQF) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and meet the eligibility criteria to drive according to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.

As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will: Prioritize safety by adhering to company policies and regulations at all times.

Perform various duties within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers as necessary to ensure timely trailer arrivals and departures with zero defects, maintaining workflow for facilities.

Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or within the yard to transport trailers to/from dock and parking areas.

Drive CMVs on public roads as needed while adhering to designated routes and utilizing approved equipment.

Comply with company policies, procedures, and DOT regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.).

Complete vehicle inspection reports on equipment and inform managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered.

Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks at appropriate intervals, adhere to yard safety protocols, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather and road conditions.

Work primarily outdoors and operate various commercial motor vehicles on the road.
Assist at nearby site locations as required to support business operations.
Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (such as pallet jacks).

Lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.

Serve as a peer trainer on an as-needed basis to support the business.

Associates will be required to obtain their Driver Qualification File (DQF) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) as a condition of employment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Must be 21 years of age or older
Ability to work 40 hours/week, with overtime as required
Flexible schedule/shift/work area availability, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Capability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences.

Ability to follow and enforce safety measures and policies for all vehicle operators on behalf of Amazon and those entering the yard, including vendors and senior team members.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $31,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $54,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is determined by several factors including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
