Senior Production Operations Manager

Overview:

JELD-WEN is seeking a Senior Production Operations Manager to enhance our manufacturing capabilities.

Role Summary:

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production and manufacturing processes. This includes managing the assembly, processing, and packaging operations to ensure optimal efficiency and quality. You will develop production schedules that align with product launches, equipment performance, material availability, workforce allocation, and market demand to maximize output and quality. This position serves as a key leadership role, akin to an Assistant Plant Manager, focusing on the productivity of various operational areas while implementing strategic initiatives within your department and team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and guide team members across all levels of the department.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Maintain open communication with senior management regarding production challenges and solutions.
  • Assess machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Balance productivity enhancements with cost-effective manufacturing practices.
  • Establish performance targets for manufacturing teams and product lines.
  • Formulate and implement workflow policies that enhance operational efficiency while prioritizing safety and quality.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at improving product quality, yield, and reducing downtime incidents.
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling for assigned production lines.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders in finance, engineering, safety, and procurement.
  • Supervise Product Line Group Managers for multiple product lines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Manufacturing Technology; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a comprehensive understanding of quality processes.
  • Experience in wood manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methodologies.
  • Familiarity with production processes, quality assurance, cost management, and techniques for optimizing manufacturing and distribution.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set and achieve short- and long-term objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in database applications and statistical software.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong collaborative skills.
  • Proven analytical skills with the capability to resolve operational issues.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and interpersonal skills, along with effective internal customer service and presentation abilities.
