Position Overview

The Aviation Traffic Supervisor is accountable for managing all air traffic control operations during designated hours and as required. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all traffic during operational hours.
  • Remaining on call for contract aircraft outside normal operational hours.
  • Issuing clearances for IFR traffic departures.
  • Coordinating with fixed base operators regarding arriving, departing, and emergency aircraft.
  • Providing essential information such as runway usage, wind conditions, and altimeter readings to all aircraft.
  • Reporting to relevant centers regarding down times of arriving IFR aircraft.
  • Controlling ground vehicles via radio or light signals during operational hours.
  • Offering estimated weather conditions upon pilot request.
  • Notifying appropriate agencies with critical information during emergencies.
  • Maintaining logs of all arriving and departing aircraft.
  • Keeping records updated with arrival and departure times of contract aircraft.
  • Collaborating with contracted customers and dispatch offices to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinating flight crew transportation.
  • Filing flight plans as requested by pilots.
  • Facilitating the safe and orderly movement of all aircraft.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Tower Operator (CTO) certificate required.
  • Class II medical certificate necessary.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding the English language.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods, as well as climb steps and ladders.
  • Normal or corrected hearing and vision required.
  • Valid driver's license and capability to operate company vehicles.
