SUMMARY

The Utilities Operations Supervisor, working under the guidance of the Utilities Field Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing a team of workers engaged in routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance tasks related to the management and upkeep of water distribution networks, wastewater collection systems, and vacuum sewer systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

The following responsibilities are typical for this role:
  • The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Additional duties may be required and assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D and three (3) years of experience in utility maintenance and construction. Possession of a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Level 3 Water Distribution License or an equivalent certification in Wastewater Collections or Vacuum Sewer Systems. A Florida Class B CDL (Commercial Driver License) with airbrakes and tanker endorsements is required. Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certification or the ability to obtain it within three months is necessary. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

    • Capability to supervise and assess personnel performance.
    • Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, officials, and the public.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.

    • Proficiency in resolving customer complaints and concerns.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
